Thorough Preparation is Essential
Before applying grasscloth wallpaper, ensure that the wall surface is smooth, dry, and free of dust. It is recommended to sand the wall with sandpaper to eliminate any uneven spots. Measure the dimensions of the wall, and when cutting the wallpaper, leave a margin of 5–10 centimeters. Prepare the necessary tools, such as specialized adhesive, a smoothing tool, and a roller.
Follow Standard Application Procedures
Apply Adhesive Evenly: Use a roller to apply the adhesive uniformly to the back of the wallpaper, then let it sit for 3–5 minutes to allow the adhesive to penetrate.
Align and Apply: Begin at a corner and apply the wallpaper from top to bottom; use a smoothing tool to gently flatten the surface and squeeze out any air bubbles.
Trim the Edges: Once the wallpaper has dried slightly, use a utility knife to trim along the edges, ensuring that the seams are neat and tidy.
Keep Important Precautions in Mind
Avoid installation in humid environments; humidity levels exceeding 70% will negatively affect the adhesion results.
Do not open windows for ventilation within 48 hours of installation, as this may cause the edges of the wallpaper to curl.
Periodically use a soft-bristled brush to remove surface dust and maintain the aesthetic appeal of the wallpaper.
