Cross-Weave PP Straw Fabric

Natural bamboo and rattan feature a classic cross pattern, where the yarns interlace and form small knots at each intersection. Our Cross-Weave PP Straw Fabric replicates this look, with a knot density of 20–30 knots per square inch. Unlike natural bamboo, where knots can loosen over time, our knots are locked in place. A precise heat-setting step slightly melts the cross points, ensuring the knots remain stable.

A common issue with cross patterns is breakage at the knots. We tested our fabric by bending it back and forth 20,000 times, and the knots remained intact. This ensures that bags and shoes made from this fabric are durable and long-lasting. Full specifications are as follows:

Heat setting is critical. Too high a temperature makes the fabric stiff; too low, and knots loosen. We set our temperature at 140°C-10°C lower than standard-but extend the time to 120 seconds, achieving locked knots while keeping the fabric soft. Nanping Jinwei operates 2 heat-setting machines, each capable of different settings. Minimum order is 500 meters, and color and knot density can be customized.
